Healthy Monterey County On behalf of the Monterey County Health Department, the Arts Council is seeking original works of art for a juried show at the new Monterey County Health Department Building. Forty (40) winners will be selected whose paintings or photographs celebrate health. Download

“Celebrating Monterey County” Juried Art Calendar Competition - Postmark Deadline Spring 2011; Hand-Deliver – Spring 2011
The Arts Council for Monterey County announces the sixth annual “Celebrating Monterey County” – juried art calendar competition.
Artwork considered for the new 13-month calendar should depict life or landscapes in Monterey County. Twelve winners will be displayed in the next Calendar with “Best in Show” featured on the cover.
Interested artists must live or work in Monterey County. Submit artwork on a flash drive or by email as .tif or jpg. Entry fee is $35.00 for maximum of 5 entries. Artists retain full rights to their work, granting publication and publicity rights only to the Arts Council for Monterey County.

Special juried exhibition at new County of Monterey Office Building - Deadline - more information coming soon
On behalf of the Board of Supervisors and Monterey County staff, the Arts Council is seeking works of art for a juried show celebrating the unique beauty, colors, lifestyle, and heritage of Monterey County for exhibition in the public spaces of the building located at 168 W. Alisal Street, Salinas.

NOTES: All works are on loan to the County for a period not to exceed one year. All works will be on sale to the public via the Arts Council website (except as prohibited by the artist). The Council retains 30% of the total proceeds to support arts education in Monterey County. All accepted works are insured from the time of delivery to the County Building until time of pick up (not to exceed $4,000 value.)
