We are proud to announce that two (2) $500.00 awards are awarded to two selected graduating Monterey County high school senior who have either been accepted to a College/University or plans to attend a local junior college to study Theatre Arts. “Our Sense of Place” Juried Art Calendar Competition - Deadline April 30
The Arts Council for Monterey County announces the fifth annual “Our Sense of Place” – juried art calendar competition.
Artwork considered for the new 13-month calendar must relate to or evoke people, buildings or scenes in Monterey County. Twelve winners will be displayed in the next Calendar with “Best in Show” featured on the cover.
Interested artists must live or work in Monterey County. Submit photographs, cd’s, glossy prints or slides. Entry fee is $35.00 for maximum of 5 entries. Artists retain full rights to their work, granting publication and publicity rights only to the Arts Council for Monterey County.

Special juried exhibition at new County of Monterey Office Building - Deadline August 1
On behalf of the Board of Supervisors and Monterey County staff, the Arts Council is seeking works of art for a juried show celebrating the unique beauty, colors, lifestyle, and heritage of Monterey County for exhibition in the public spaces of the building located at 168 W. Alisal Street, Salinas.

NOTES: All works are on loan to the County for a period not to exceed one year. All works will be on sale to the public via the Arts Council website (except as prohibited by the artist). The Council retains 30% of the total proceeds to support arts education in Monterey County. All accepted works are insured from the time of delivery to the County Building until time of pick up (not to exceed $4,000 value.)
