Professional Artists in the Schools Program Details |
 |
 |
Our Professional Artists in the Schools Program provides innovative, in-depth, hands-on arts education to Monterey County elementary and middle schools.
Professional artists conduct workshops with the students in a specific art discipline which is chosen by principals and or teachers. Children explore their own creativity while developing their problem solving skills and imagination, resulting in an awareness of their own creative abilities. There are over 65 talented artists and performers to choose from ranging from visual, literary, and performing artists.
See below for the complete catalog.
To make a contribution to make this program possible, please contact Paulette Lynch, Executive Director at 831-622-9060.
If you would like to become a Professional Artist in our Schools, please send email along with your current resume or curriculum vitae to artsed@culturalmonterey.org. Please note your discipline and grade level preferences in your message.

"Students who were highly involved in arts instruction earned better grades and performed better on standardized tests.
They also performed more community service, watched fewer hours of television, reported less boredom in school, and were less likely to drop out of school...the ARTS are an important part of a complete education."
~ Rod Paige
U.S. Secretary of Education, 2004
